Today is world no tobacco day!
Many people know the harmful effects of smoking, which can cause heart disease and lung cancer; however many people don’t realise that smoking can also lead to vision loss. Studies show smoking increases the risk of age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy and Dry Eye Syndrome, that’s why we at the Sight for Life Foundation support the World No Tobacco Day.
The Sight for Life Foundation Theatre and Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital are proud to be smoke-free environments, ensuring the best health for our patients. To find our more about our theatre.
This year, the focus is on tobacco and youth. Interested in learning more about World No Tobacco Day 2020? Visit the WHO website, accessible at World Health Organisation
